Permission to Pause + Mahalo The Bean Mask!

How are you doing? I hope well. We have had a lovely weekend so far and have been trying to beat the heat here in Portland. It got up to 107 degrees one day this week. That is crazy! We are surviving and it is only supposed to be in the 90's this week. Woo hoo!

TODAY I want to talk about SELF-CARE! One of my favorite subjects. I think it is extremely important to carve out 'ME' time each day even if it just for 5 or 10 minutes. It is amazing how grounding and giving self-care can be. I used to think it was a selfish act until I realized that I am a MUCH better person when I fill my cup up each day with a little self-care. I then have so much more to give to my family, my clients, my friends, and colleagues. This is something that I teach my clients as well. The ART of SELF-CARE!

This month's treat was from Mahalo Skincare which is on my list of TO-TRY BRANDS! I have many and am slowly making my way through the list. We are heading to Hawaii this coming week and I have two brands that I am on the hunt for when I am there. Mahalo was one of them!

Look at the packaging! LOVE!! Yes, I am a sucker for good packaging and don't mind spending a few extra $$ if the products inside are as good as the outside.

I was a wee bit excited to receive The Bean Mask along with the mask brush.

MY THOUGHTS: Wow! This was a delight to use and the sensory experience is amazing. I am a huge fan of May Lindstrom's Blue Cocoon Balm (which I need to make a post about.... ) and this mask reminded me of this as far as scent. It was easy to apply with the included brush. I smeared on a nice layer of it and then chilled for 30 minutes, letting the mask do its magic!

I need to interrupt this review by sharing my absolute favorite lounge wear! Athleta's RESTORE Collection is uber soft and made with sustainable fabrics. Designed to inspire total R&R for mind, body and soul! OMG! Everything I own in this collection is my fav! Today, I am wearing the beyond soft Pranayama Wrap, Ultimate Crossback Tank, and Restore Jogger! When I say these are soft... I mean they are AMAZINGLY soft. You just feel like you are receiving a huge hug all day long. That is a good feeling. I highly recommend anything from this collection. I also love this month's mission to give yourself Permission to Pause! We are always on the go, go, go and taking a minute to pause, take a deep breath, and REST and RELAX is so necessary!

Okay, back to the MAHALO BEAN MASK REVIEW- this was such a treat to use and when I added a little water to start rinsing it off, it had a slight exfoliating effect, but nothing harsh. My skin felt super soft and had a nice little rosy glow. I have to be careful with anything with manual exfoliating properties because my skin does not always respond well to them. This was gentle but effective, and quite luxurious to use. In other words, I can't wait to use this AGAIN! And yes, I want to try more from this line.

I have heard great things about the UNVEIL Cleanser and the PETAL MASK as well as the RARE INDIGO BALM. Eek.. I want to order all of them! I think I will try to seek them out while I am actually in Hawaii so I can touch and smell but you can also order them at www.beauty-heros.com
